Create the agreed base, lay turf or complete planting carefully around edges and existing features.
Establish properly
Explain watering, foot traffic, first mowing, early feeding where appropriate and the practical signs that the new lawn or planting is settling in.

Turf can be laid quickly. Establishing a good lawn is the part that needs patience.
New turf is a living product. Successful establishment depends on ground preparation, moisture, weather, soil, shade, foot traffic, animals and the aftercare completed after installation.
Cooler conditions
Autumn through early spring can be particularly suitable when ground is workable and not frozen or waterlogged.
Warm weather
Turfing can still be possible, but watering becomes more demanding and timing needs more judgement.
First cut
The lawn should be rooted and at a suitable height before mowing; the first cut should be gentle and not remove too much leaf.
Long-term result
Drainage, soil condition and intended use need to be realistic; turf cannot permanently hide a structural ground problem.

What should a turfing quotation include?
It should make clear what is included for removal, preparation, soil/topsoil, levelling, turf supply and laying, edging, watering and waste.
Can new turf fix poor drainage?
No. Minor ground improvement can be included, but persistent waterlogging may require drainage or more substantial excavation before turfing is sensible.
How soon can I walk on new turf?
Routine traffic should be avoided until the turf has rooted and no longer lifts easily. Weather, soil and watering influence how quickly that happens.
Who is responsible for watering?
Ongoing establishment watering is normally the customer's responsibility unless another arrangement is expressly included in the quotation.
When will the first cut be needed?
When the turf is rooted and the grass is tall enough for a gentle first cut. The timing depends on establishment and weather rather than a fixed number of days.
Do you come back after installation?
Follow-up support can be agreed where required, and we provide clear establishment, watering and first-cut guidance as part of the handover.
Can you combine turfing with planting?
Yes. Turfing, border preparation and planting can be combined into one wider garden-improvement scope where that is the most practical route.
